The First Step in Preparing a Persuasive Speech

  1. Point X Is not the thesis statement of your persuasive speech, but it rather provokes action. It helps you take your audience from when they are in terms of what you want to convince them of, to take action.
Point X can be quiet helpful, for if you can get your audience into action, you have convinced then, which was your final porpoise in the end.
I would dare say you could also finish the phrase ‘when I have finished speaking my audience will’ not only with an action verb but with your thesis statement to make sure you get that shift on your audience mind.

  2. Point X helps state a purpose in your speech. If you really want give a successful speech, you need to know what your presentation is intended for. There must be something to expect from the audience, Otherwise, your presentation is not going to have a goal. It somehow could make your presentation boring and uninteresting.

  3. I think like you Jose, the point x is the purpose, when you chose the topic and make a research; in order to have all the information about the topic, you need to think about what you want that people think or feel at the end of the presentation. The most important is that people understand the information, change their minds and be interested about your topic

  5. Point X is the most important is it not the thesis statement as we consider is the most important but it is something that will help us to catch the audience attention, and provided an interest speech, so that is basically the most important thing on the speech, the sentences ending with an active should help us to define an action that is realistic, capable of doing in order to get in contact with the audience.

  7. I think all of us understood "Point X" in a different way, and this reinforce my opinion: the speaker had better present his idea clearly. In my head, "Point X" is the connection got with people. If you finish your speech and everybody does, it is because your audience was connected with you.
People will ask for more information because they liked the speech, they understood clearly your message and agreed with your propososal. So, "Point X" would be the connection we get with people, and we must take advantage of such connection to convince them about our thoughts
